Our boat floated up to the edge of this rickety dock and I looked in horror as I realized I would need to step out onto it. At first glance I doubted it would hold my weight, but a person before me seemed to navigate it without a problem. With great hesitation I stepped out of the boat onto this pier with no handrails. It was wobbly seeming to sway with my footsteps, but I managed to walk its short length to the safety of the shore.
