Description
The business of breaking a colt is sometimes very dangerous. Here a Ranch hand is making sure safety comes first, not only for the horse but also for himself. Hobbling and tying up one hind leg is an old remedy for a ranch hand working with horses and a very safe way to contain a horse that kicks and rears when fight or flight kicks in and can not be remedied quickly. Today's methodology has changed and there are many trainers who would not recommend this type of breaking method as trust is not fully understood by the horse; however, sometimes it can not be avoided when working with hundreds of horses on a cattle ranch or stock yard that must be broke quickly.
