Located near Ellsinore, Missouri, Pinewoods Lake was built in the 1970s to provide fishing and other recreational opportunities. This area is a day use only facility. There are no fees to use the area, with the exception to reserve the large pavillion.
Circling the lake, the Pinewoods Lake Trail is 1.3 miles in length, and is relatively flat the enitre way, offering no difficult sections..The trail provides abundant views of the lake, wildlife, and numerous wildflowers throughout the year. It also links many popular fishing spots along the shore with the picnic area or parking lot.
31-acre Pinewoods Lake offers great opportunities for fishing, including bass, sunfish and catfish, either from the shore or from a small boat. Electric trolling motors ONLY are allowed on the lake. From the handicap-accessible section of the Pinewoods Lake Trail, a barrier-free fishing pier can be accessed.
