Ovarian Sertoli-Leydig tumour. Light micrograph of a section through a Sertoli-Leydig tumour in an ovary. This is a very rare ovarian tumour that may be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Sertoli-Leydig cells are normally found in the testicles. They release the male sex hormone testosterone, leading to the woman developing male characteristics such as facial hair and a deep voice. Magnification: x250 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
