Peanut was the beloved pet of a local woman who wanted a lasting memento of her dog. She had three small photos of this tiny Pomeranian, but only one that was actually "useable" and had enough detail to render this painting. I had never painted an animal portrait up until this point, so this was a welcome and fun challenge. The likeness turned out well, and the purchaser was pleased.
About Cathy McGregor
Basically a self-taught artist, my interest in art began when I was five years old. I would spend quiet hours pursuing my passion in drawing, color and painting. However, my formal artistic career did not begin until the summer of 2005, when I picked up a paintbrush and started experimenting in acrylics. Since that time, I continued to learn and expand my knowledge in art. An avid learner, I've spent many hours studying the works, techniques, and styles of other artists by observation and/or by reading books, pouring through magazines and watching videos.
