Description
Altered art. Surreal adaptation of Turkish Cafe by the German artist August Macke [1887-1914], a member of the German Expressionist group, Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider). His death came at the front during the second month of the First World War. My inspiration came from the early album covers of the original Penguin Cafe Orchestra. With thanks to Mindy Sommers of Vintageartdownload.com for the image of Macke's painting.

Sarah, August Macke would have liked it as I do - humor makes the world to a better place - vf - Dagmar
Sarah Vernon replied:
I do hope he would have done. I love Macke's work and while I don't always agree with altering classic art, I couldn't help myself with Turkish Cafe! Thank you, Dagmar.
