The Princess of Acadia has sailed the Bay of Fundy since 1971 between Saint John, NB and Digby, NS. This ferry, built in Saint John, carries passengers and vehicles on a waterway which boasts the most extreme tides in the world. Then original painting was commissioned by Northumberland Ferries Limited.
About Lorraine Vatcher
Lorraine (Gosbee) Vatcher I don’t remember a time when I was not creating something. At a very early age I used my mother’s and grandmother’s sewing machines. I would watch them for hours as they worked on each of their newest project. Being the oldest of a large family made the prices of fashionable clothing quite prohibitive, however, since necessity is the mother of invention, I soon learned to design and sew many of the latest fashions. I still do. Along with sewing, I nurtured many of the crafts, knitting, embroidery, cross-stitch, needlepoint, etc. Thus the stepping stone to painting. I prefer not to get stuck in one genre of painting. At any time my favourite painting could be totally different from the one I was working on...
