This is NOT a work by Santiago Ramon y Cajal. This is a portion of plate XXI from Camillo Golgi's 1885 work "Sulla fina anatomia degli organi centrali del sistema nervoso" (On the Fine Structure of the Central Organs of the Nervous System.

It's very interesting ! I love it ! Like a forest in my head..and below, small radishes ! A great pleasure to see this hippocampus. Thank you and thanks for Santiago Ramon y Cajal for his investigations

It took to long in the first place Also the cherries are upside down. So the zipper should have been the other way around it’s backwards. Not like the picture way.

Artist's Description

Part of section through the pes hippocampi major (of a rabbit). The hippocampus is located in the medial temporal lobe of the brain. It plays important roles in the consolidation of information from short-term memory to long-term memory, and in spatial memory that enables navigation. This was drawn by Santiago Ramon y Cajal (1852-1934), a Spanish pathologist, histologist, neuroscientist, and Nobel laureate (1906). His original pioneering investigations of the microscopic structure of the brain have led to his being designated by many as the father of modern neuroscience. His medical artistry was legendary, and hundreds of his drawings illustrating the delicate arborizations of brain cells are still in use for educational and training purposes.
