Description

This painting is inspired by the birds that gather in my sister’s backyard in Maine at the end of winter. As the season shifts, they appear—small but resilient—searching for food and signs of spring.

I used warm earth tones to reflect the quiet, in-between season—when the snow has melted, but the landscape still waits for new growth. The bold outlines and textured brushstrokes give a sense of movement, much like the way these birds bring life to the bare trees and cold ground.

Pond Street Birds is about noticing these everyday moments in nature—the simple, steady presence of birds going about their lives, reminding us that change is always coming.
