love the atmosphere in this beautiful work

Tim Allen replied:

Thank you very much, Shadowlea. This remains one of my favorites.

Love your framing and treatment, a great slice of city life! L/F

Tim Allen replied:

Thank you very much, Kate. I do love that wall.

What an exotic-looking piece you've created. I enjoyed reading your description and learning about the history. You have made this famous alley-way all your own. v

Tim Allen replied:

Thank you Carole. The entire market is quite magical but this wall seems to transcend even that it seems. Again, I appreciate the kind words.

Like what you've created here! I enjoy the back street "my neighborhood" feel to this work;) v/f

Tim Allen replied:

Thank you, Jack. Who would have guessed, all those years ago when movie goers started placing gum on this wall, that this alley would literally become world renowned. Go figure.

This sounds very interesting :-)

Tim Allen replied:

Yup. I pass through here a few times a week and NEVER find that wall without a crowd around it. Truly a destination in and of itself.

Dark, mysterious, beautiful!

Tim Allen replied:

Thank you very much, Irmgard. Not that long ago, The Guinness Book Of World Records deemed this wall "The Germiest Tourist Attraction In The World." Always ever changing.

Beautiful Seattle street scene, Allen, F-V!

Carry-all Pouch Reviews (191)

Average Rating (4.72 Stars):

March 21st, 2019

This product was stitched well and the image as featured on the FineArtAmerica site was positioned on the finished zippered pouch as promised.

March 21st, 2019

Quality of product, placement of image was better. Actual placement of lettering of "enjoy the Ride" did not all appear on same side of zippered pouch. Only "the Ride" appeared on the front panel with the bike. In view of timing to provide this as a gift to my granddaughter I no longer have possession of the pouch for photographing. This can be achieved if needed in order to prove my point and to provide the customer a better finished product as featured on their FineArtAmerica site.

March 21st, 2019

Poor quality control of seaming alignment did not allow full image as shown on original FineArtAmerica page. Below you will see how unsuitable the final product assembly and stitching was. A corrected zipper pouch to reflect the design placement as promoted should be provided to customer.

March 21st, 2019

The bottom seam was stitched so closely to the dinosaur that the legs of the animal were incorporated into the seam and ruined the appearance of the overall design. This has occasionally be a problem with other designs and seam stitching. Quality control not in place. An accurate replacement should be provided. This was to be included in young granddaughter's birthday package. Was unsuitable to gift.

Very pleased with this product.

Artist's Description

This is a view under Pike Place Market in Seattle of Post Alley with The Alibi Room bar to the right, the Post Alley sign near the bottom of the hill above the alley and, to the left outside The Market Theater, is the famed "Bubblegum Wall", a wall covered with bubblegum. Story has it that years ago the Market Theater proprietors got tired of cleaning bubblegum off the backs, undersides and armrests of the theater seats at the end of each day so asked theater patrons to please leave their bubblegum outside before entering the theater. Well, it appears the patrons, possibly in protest, stuck their bubblegum to the brick wall outside and the rest is history. I heard they tried cleaning the gum off once and there was an uproar so it is back. Needless to say here, it has become a destination in and of itself there at the market.
