Absolutely love this work of art and the skill involved in creating it. I'm not always a fan of theme rooms, but this piece ties into the room perfectly, and is exactly what the room was missing. I will be looking for more of Mr McEloy's work in the future.

Reminds me of times spent on the common in Autumn

It was a gift for a friend and they loved it! Very unusual but special shot!

This is a beautiful image and a moving scripture. We hung this in our church bathroom, and the compliments keep coming! We’re thinking about putting it someplace higher profile for maximum impact!

I was not satisfied with my recent purchase. I ordered a print and it arrived with printing that was not clear and hard to read. I was told I could rip up the print and send a picture of torn up print for refund. I still wouldn't have a print that was clear and that could be easily read. I also do not have the computer skills to submit a picture of a torn up print.

Artist's Description

Potassium reacting with water. Potassium (K) is a highly reactive metallic element. It reacts violently with water to produce hydrogen (H2) gas and potassium hydroxide (KOH) in an exothermic (heat-producing) reaction. Enough heat is generated to melt the potassium and ignite the hydrogen.

About Trevor Clifford Photography

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
