About James Willoughby III
I started Painting in oils at the ripe old age of 9. Though I've been painting and drawing now for 40 years, I am just beginning a career in fine art. I grew up in mid-west America and most of my landscapes and wild life reflect that. I am completely self taught in oils, graphite drawing, oil based color pencils, and digital works. I tend to do highly detailed and time consuming works which, of course translates to fewer pieces. My wish is that the viewer can get more out of each piece and even discover more things in them as time goes on. I have shown in several juried competitions including a Statewide competition.
