The spineless prickly pear cactus, a hybrid of the Mexican or Indian fig prickly pear, makes a great addition to a desert garden. For obvious reasons, it is especially "friendly" as a border cactus. I found this one blooming in front of a dusty rose colored stucco wall in New Mexico.
