Thanks for the fav First Star Art. :)

Thank you Carolyn for that very nice reply. My oldest brother got one of Jon Gnagy's kits and I used it as well those many years ago. I still remember seeing Jon on TV and how cool it was to see him draw.

What a beautiful painting Brian! Jon Gnagy was my very first art instructor so many years ago. As a child I bought one of his charcoal art kits and have been painting ever since. Your artwork reflects the beauty of his still life artwork. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks jrr. I'm glad you left a message for me.

I love this!!-jrr

The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

very nice, love the colour not keen on the white tastle border but i like it, i'm going to use it as blanket for my hamock,

2D image of a still life done in tempra paint. Homage to Jon Gnagy... Jon Gnagy, known to millions as America's first television art teacher, was born near Pretty Prairie, Kansas in 1907. At eleven, Jon began drawing and painting without instruction, winning prizes at the Kansas State Fair. Attention each year at the Fair brought him an offer from Tulsa, Oklahoma where at seventeen, he accepted a position of art director with a public relations firm. Then Jon moved his young family to Wichita. There he wrote and illustrated advertising for aircraft companies. Determined to hit the "big time" or "bust" he left during the Depression for New York at age 24. The second day he landed a finished art contract for full page ads to run in the Saturday Evening Post and Fortune Magazine. During WW II, in Philadelphia, Jon served as Art Director for the War Service Committee. His experience in training led to lecture demonstrations many colleges. About Brian Wallace

I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau.
