Unfortunately the quality of the picture did not come out very clear. The quality of the bag is nice.

this product was printed incorrectly. One side was facing correctly the other side is inverted by 180 in the wrong direction. It should be replaced because of manufacturing defects!

Artist's Description

The Iwo Jima Monument, formally known as the United States Marine Corps Memorial, is adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC. The large monument depicts six World War II soldiers raising the American flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima (five Marines and one Navy corpsman). The actual event was immortalized by journalist Joe Rosenthal in his Pulitzer Prize winning photograph, which in 1954 served as the basis for the new Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. The battle over the island of Iwo Jima in World War II was one of the fiercest battles between the United States and Japan, and resulted in the United States capturing the island. Japanese positions on the island were heavily fortified, with vast bunkers, hidden artillery, and 11 miles of underground tunnels. I enjoy photography and writing, and sometimes think of myself as a photojournalist. If there is a story to be told with a photograph, I tell it. As a longtime resident of Washington, DC, a lot of my photographs are of this area, and I enjoy writing in the description something about the shot -- it could be a short statement about an equestrian statue in the middle of a park, or a more intimate tale of the mausoleum where Abraham Lincoln's son, Willie, was entombed for the remaining three years of Lincoln's presidency after the boy's death.
