Red Sky on Marblehead Harbor. Today Marblehead is much different from its humble beginnings as a harbor that together with Salem brought much of the cod that allowed the coastal towns to flourish and grow in trade in the 17th century. It’s still home today to a few working lobstermen. All though during the summer months it is tough to navigate out of the harbor due to all the pleasure craft.
I love to head out before the sun comes up and on the warmer mornings in early spring you can walk out on the neck road that connects the town of Marblehead with the “Neck”. I sit there and listen to the seagulls squawking in the distance. The occasional car drives by or maybe a jogger for company.
