Old roads are improved trails which often started as a path taken by animals to traverse the landscape, then Native Americans developed the path into a trail, which the Americans used to build their railroads on. With the passing of time and the demise of our rail system the tracks were removed and the one time rabbit trail became a bike trail. When one travels on a rails to trails bike trail your traveling back in history. I can often feel the resonate vibrations of souls long gone that were a part of the trail. Along the Katy Trail south of Columbia Missouri as it passes through Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area.
