Description
This painting began in one of my intercessor meetings. A sister gave each woman there a mustard seed and told us to ask God what He wanted us to do with it. I immediately heard God say"Eat it",so I did. And when I did,I saw a picture of my husband and I becoming intertwined and growing into a tree. That was the beginning. It was a promise to me,that we would become one and that our roots would grow deep down into the Lords sweetness into his abundant goodness.
Genesis 2:24-25 "This is why a man is to leave his father and mother and stick with his wife, and they are to be one flesh. They were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed."
Honey was a theme at the time I was painting this.Everywhere, even amongst other sisters, honey seemed to be the focus. One day,the Lord told me to take a teaspoon of honey and eat it.He was reminding me of His sweetness and that I needed to be saturated in His honey because I wasn't feeling sweet at the time. The hive was a picture of community. And I felt the tree represented the oneness of God's church, both Jew and Gentile, one new man.
He was also showing me through this painting that he wanted to take me back to original, back to the Garden.
Exodus 3:8"I have come down to rescue them from the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that country,to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the place of the Canaanites,Hittites,Amorites,Perizzites,Hivites and Jebusites."
