About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Where is this? It has not even shipped yet!

Ad said it has a hanging wire, it doesn’t. Has a big chunk of wood glued to the back with a hanging bracket. Acrylic distorts the picture in my opinion.

This rating is for Fine Art America only. Not the artist. I received this print on acrylic. It shows to have a silver back ground, but it was green-ish in real life. That didn't work for me so I needed to send it back. It cost me $32 to have it shipped, but $96....yes, NINETY SIX dollars to have it sent back. Fine Arts could have had a pre-printed label from their corporate account (like Amazon does) for it to be shipped back and then that ($32) amount deducted from my refund. They did not. So, basically I paid $120 to get a product that did not match the print online. Therefore, I will NEVER shop at Fine Art America again AND will warn everyone I know to beware.

I have seen this in person many times. I thought it would be nice to have a picture of it. I am so glad I got this.

I lived in the area and saw Mt. Rainier often. I used to call it "my" mountain. Now, I have a photo of it to remind me of its beauty.

Artist's Description

(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) When traveling it is easy to learn something new every day. Take lighthouses for example. I ofen thought they all had to be very tall and cylindrical structures. Well that is not the case on Roanoke Island between the mainland and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Short and square cottage-style structures like this one were once common on the sounds and coastal waterways to aid navigation in shallow waters. The original one was built in 1877 and was located nearby on the Croatan Sound near Wanchese. After it was decommissioned in 1955, it fell off a barge and sunk to the bottom while being moved during rough waves. To preserve history and revitalize their waterfront, the citizens of Manteo built this replica in 2004. Now visitors can learn something new of days gone by, when they come to see the ... Roanoke Marshes Light. I created this image from my original photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures or other...

About Mel Steinhauer

My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR film camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold, but I have always enjoyed photography as an art form. Several years ago, after surviving another kind of war with cancer, I began to really see the beauty in our world. Ever since then I have been inspired with a new awareness of life and an improved photographic vision. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time to do so. In 2006 I finally...
