My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Close up detail of a watercolor in progress. This is Phillies ace in the 1950s Robin Roberts. Without Roberts and Ashburn the Phillies would have been asked to leave the National League. . Painting is 22 x30 and is an interpretation of the Topps '57 Roberts card.
I met Robin at the '84 Olympics ad we had a few Buds and shot the insults back and forth while i did caricatures of him. A great guy and a great hurler.
About Robert Myers
Robert Myers was born in San Francisco and raised there and in Chicago. He attended Tulane university, California College of Art, Otis College of Art & design. He has illustrated for Playboy, Sport, Disney adventures magazine, AutoWeek and others. He illustrated "Come Back Alive" for Doubleday (Random House). He also illustrated "Surfer Girl-A guide to the surfing life" by Sanoe Lake, published by Little Brown. Myers paintings at first concentrated on oversize baseball cards from the 1950s. He showed these at OK Harris in New York in 1989. He showed more of thes in Los angeles at Art Dimensions and Sports and Entertainment Gallery. Moved by the outrageousness of the OJ Simpson trial, he produced a 13 panel work consisting of 6' x3'...
