I purchased this item as a Christmas gift for my son. Like me, he is a life-long Yankees and Mickey Mantle fan, although he never saw "The Mick" play. I know that he will proudly hang this photo in his office.

Magnificent photo. Extremely pleased. Note, however, that photos are more of a "stain" and not a "paint" when applied to the plywood substrate. So there is a heavy woodgrain is apparent on the lighter shades (see photo). Would suggest ordering this as a poster or print and not on plywood.

This was a gift for my husband. His grand parents had one in their home and he always treasured it, so when I found this one, it reminded him of his grandparents and he was truly grateful. The way it was packaged was perfect.

This piece arrived very quickly and was packaged with multiple layers of cardboard to protect against damage in shipping. The piece itself is well made and colors are true to life. The only thing that was disappointing was that the edges of the wood mounting were bare wood and looked unfinished. I easily used brown paint and painted the edges for a finished look.

I love the quality of this print on wood! It is very pretty and as close to the original as I can get!

Artist's Description

Rosa Parks (February 4, 1913 October 24, 2005) was an African American civil rights activist whom the U.S. Congress later called "Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement". On December 1, 1955, Parks became famous for refusing to obey bus driver James Blake's order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger. This action of civil disobedience started the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which is one of the largest movements against racial segregation. In addition, this launched Martin Luther King, Jr., who was involved with the boycott, to prominence in the civil rights movement. She has had a lasting legacy worldwide.

About Kenneth Kelsoe

Kenneth Kelsoe

Kenneth Kelsoe was born in 1944, in Montebello, California, and was the third of four boys. His father, Boze, was a lumber grader. Boze changed jobs frequently, so the family moved up and down the west coast of the United States. At one time they lived in a logging camp in the Trinity Alps. On another, the family lived in downtown East Los Angeles. While in high school, Ken played football, water polo, and wrestled. He was also the editor of the school newspaper. Ken graduated from Marysville High School in 1962. After graduation he worked in a lumber mill for a year before returned to school to study art at Santa Ana College and Yuba College. While at Yuba College, Ken met Patsy Lynn DeGarmo, the love of his life. In 1965...
