An image of a man-made island with a covered bridge leading to a white church surrounded by a white picket fence with an adjacent waterwheel and a wooded backdrop. The surrounding water is a habitat for waterfowl of all kinds. A blue heron happened to be wading this particular day with some geese just out of sight. This image is the result of processing two shots side by side to make a panoramic view. The spiritual scaled-down model is located in Pasadena, Maryland.

I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau. Hi Mary, You can certainly remove this photo from the group if you like. I kind of checked the box for your group and thought as I continued, they probably want more emphasis on the heron for this group. It's ok really. I'd rather be more compliant as you have also been good to me. I have many groups, and sometimes I might not get it just right. Thanks for your message. :)

Hi Brian, I'm posting this photo in the Capturing the Great Blue Heron group of images because you have contributed such wonderful photos to the group and because your description mentions that a heron is wading in the water in the image above. On the right of the photo, I do see what looks as if it might be a heron, though it's not a dominant feature. I'm putting this comment here to draw the attention of our group members to your description in the right-hand sidebar. It's a lovely photo, but at first glace, I'm sure others will wonder, as I did, how it relates to the theme of this group!

I did see that but before I read it at a quick glance I couldnt decifer between real and fantasy. LOL... my brain works like that! :-)

Wonderful work Brian. At first glance I thought this was a miniature, then I saw the people and said oh it's real, then I looked full res at the people and saw they were statues so I was back to the mini theory. Then I saw the Blue in comparison to the island and I am totally confused LOL. Great picture no matter which.

Thanks Erica. In the description it tells you what it is. :)
