Sometimes small pictures without heavy duty planning come out great. I love the way I painted the palm fronds on the hut.

I am always curious about watercolor techniques. The foreground shadows on the rock intrigue me. Did you lay down a mid-tone burnt sienna and then darken it with vandyke brown while it was moist? Did you inlay the dark spots with paynes grey or a violet/purple? I also love the palm fronds. Simplicity works best in water color. Seargent proved that in his wonderful work.

Hi Lynne, We have very similar techniques. I work in layers and that's how I get nice intense colors. I'm sure you do too. I like your trees. Mary
