you can almost feel how cold the water is ... perfect.

Almost I can hear the rushing water, great art piece.

Jim, The waterfall painting is GREAT. I've added it to my favorites! Que. I too went with the print and geclee program and pd. the $35 per year but have no had any sales...none! Have you had any success?

Jim Gola replied:

Bryan... Thanks for the compliment. I had sales early on shortly after the start-up of FAA. Since then almost zero. There are so MANY artists on this site now, a person's percentage falls dramatically with sales. I have sold one original early in the game. Still it is a good website for minimum dollars. I have directed my old site www.jimgola.com to the FAA site. Jim Gola

I love this picture! I can’t stop looking at it!

April 22nd, 2019

I was looking for a canvas with poppies that also looked like it could be in Colorado. This was just what I wanted. Different from mountain landscapes that I already had some of. Love the contrast between the grass and the trees and color of the sky.

This is unique and colorful. I wanted more art for my mountain condo, and I already had several mountain landscapes. This one depicts a much different perspective and time of day. Very interesting.

Artist's Description

Most artists while on a plein-air jaunt, are at times faced with the unexpected. My friend Ron and I thought we had found the perfect place to paint. We didnt stop to think how quickly the view before us would disappear. As the afternoon sun streamed in over the falls, the foliage sang with the greens of the moment. Suddenly realizing that we were losing our view rapidly, I decided to switch my painting tools from brushes to palette knife. The race was on! As the sun began to sink to the right of my view, I placed the last stroke of the knife on the board. Although this painting is a departure from my normal style, for me it did capture literally the moment. This painting is a small format work on Masonite board. The original is just 8x10 inches but through the miracle of high resolution print making, prints of much larger size are available.

Admiring much of the work of Americas past masters such as Inness, Moran, Chase, Homer and Bierstadt, among others. He then started to generate his lifelong love of oil painting. Moving to Oregon in the early sixties, while free lancing in art, Jim was introduced to the field of architecture. Upon receiving commissions to...
