When I am walking through nature I try to be quiet and really focus on seeing and listening.
Sometimes beauty is big, loud and unmissable. Other times it is hidden and quiet and easily overlooked. Luckily, I spotted this little scene in a quiet spot inside the wonderful Botanical gardens of the butterfly exhibit at the Franklin Park Conservatory. I have always loved the sculptural element of these flowers and I loved how they seemed to glow under the canopy of large leaves and shadow.
Anthuriums are herbaceous epiphytes native to tropical America. Anthurium is a genus of more than 800 species found in the New World tropics from Mexico to northern Argentina and Uruguay. The Anthurium is also known as Painted Tongue, Flamingo Flower (Flamingo Lily) or Tail Flower. Anthuriums are grown for their brightly colored flower spathes and their ornamental leaves.
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
