The last remains of Slaggan, a deserted village in Wester Ross, Scotland, UK.
.....
Slaggan is about two and a half miles west of Achgarve in Wester Ross, along a gated public road. The village suffered from young folk leaving to find work, until eventually there was only one family, Mackenzies, working crofts at Slaggan.
.....
The gables ends belong to a house they built in 1936 which burnt down in 1942/3, an incident which is often blamed on navy personnel sheltering while out wandering. After the fire, crofting continued but Slaggan became uninhabited.
