Thanks..I don't know what kind of snake it was. After a minute or so the egret got the snake positioned, head first, and it didn't take very long for him to swallow it.

Amazing capture! That looks like a big snake (do you know what kind?) not too happy to be caught here! So does the bird really manage to win the battle and gulp that whole thing okay? Does the snake put up a good fight, if eaten does the unlucky prey get swallowed wriggling all the way down as well?!
