This is real snowflake: medium size stellar dendrite (around 5-6 millimeters from tip to tip), captured in January 2013.

This snow crystal is one of most beautiful stellar dendrites that i have captured previous winter, but it was hard to post-process, because i got problems with aligning serial shots (wind shifts and rotates this snowflake while i took series of photos). I like it's elegant structure and shape, especially arms with many small details: they remind me six swords, pointing inward.

8 identical RAW photos, captured as quick series, was averaged to boost signal-to-noise ratio of this picture. Background: black wool fabric, natural light from gray cloudy sky, camera Canon Powershot A650is, external optics Helios 44M-5.
