CJ - This is so reminiscent of the sweet days of my girlhood in the warm, magical summer afternoons in Mesa, Arizona! The attitude of the barefoot little girl is charmingly expectant, which gives this beautiful painting a special emotional "tug." Thanks for the your lovely work & "Thanks for the memories!" - v

Nice one CJ! This painting has a very warm feeling to it. Question: Why was she barefooted?

CJ Rider replied:

Thanks Paul! It was a hot summer day - she had a swimsuit on under the t-shirt and shorts. Lots of kids went barefoot back then in the summer - before we figured out the floors in those fast food joints were so germy - ;)

Thank you everyone- I really appreciate the kind feedback! cj

Thankyou for your lovely comment Dianne! and Nice to meet you too!

CJ, it's hard to add to so many positive comments about this work, but I must. Like so many of work paintings, "Soda Girl" goes to the viewer's heart to evoke images of past innocence and feelings of warmth and love. Besides the obvious use of composition, angles, and color, this is a very rare quality indeed. Thank you for sharing your heart and for creating so many wonderful contests for other artists to share theirs.

CJ Rider replied:

I have taken a picture but can't figure out how to capture it in email. I love the picture but I should have gotten the bigger size as I have about 2 feet between the windows and the picture. If you know of someone who wants this picture I would sell it to them and get the larger one but I have no way of shipping it. Thanks for asking, Jeri Engler

I ordered Moon Child by Candy Schultheis as a gift for our friends. It came beautifully matted and framed and looks lovely on a wall. Our friends love it.

The Cobra Attack was perfect for a retired helicopter pilot. It arrived in perfect condition and was exactly as pictured on the website. Top quality!

Lovely picture! It fit right in at my house. Also the packaging was so good there was not a chance that it would get damaged in the mail. I was very pleased when I got it.

Photo print itself turned out beautifully (five stars) although frame quality was much lower than expected and scratched/not flush in certain spots (3 stars). Will have to get it reframed so very disappointed with Fine Art.

Love the picture! Grew up on the South Side of Youngstown and Mill Creek park and the Old Mill was a wonderful part of my childhood. Now I have a wonderful memory hanging in my Family room.

About CJ Rider

CJ Rider

My love of nature took seed during childhood where I spent many afternoons barefoot on the beach collecting shells and wiggly things. That sand, the salty breeze, and California sun persist; nudging me to recreate the feeling they offered as a child. My appreciation and desire to paint began to flourish as I traveled across the United States, experiencing the local flavors from various small towns we passed through or lived in. In my art, I endeavor to portray not only the physical but also the essence of the subject. To get that twinkle in the eye, the sweetness in the face of a child, or the softness of dew on a leaf - these things are the heart of the subject and I strive to paint them - bringing me one step closer to that warm...
