This is an oil pastel original. This piece captures the feelings of me, the artist, as I go through an extremely difficult trial for a significant amount of time. I seem to be pressed on all sides and irritable from the constant struggle, yet, when I look at it it seems that the rough, sharp edges were softened.

This seems to represent the refining and purification process from the Holy Spirit. He turns the bad things into something beautiful-softens our heart, gives us strength, endurance, patience, character, integrity. At times the suffering may seem too much, but if you're going through some difficult times, remind yourself of the prize you'll receive at the end, whether in this lifetime or later in heaven (or both).
