Many years ago, my uncle Thomas (Tom) Phillip Hufford asked me to come up with a word the opposite of predator. Amitor is that word. Ami: Fr. friend, Amigo: Sp. friend, Amity: Eng. harmony, Ami: Formosa, Taiwan. Giraffe: non predatory animal unless young attacked. Butterflies: live, love, laugh, hope. Survive, thrive and inspire others. Pen Sherwood offered to do this Amtor artwork for free sharing the copyright with me for my Amitor concept. Amitor Tom would be so proud. Diana Hays Kisselburg

Artist's Description

This painting was inspired by a hundreds of mornings on lake Kakakiwaganda in Norther Ontario. It was a view like this that greeted me as I stepped out of the cabin. Interesting how I do not like to show any indication that man is present in this solitude. yet if you were here, it is so still you could hear voices and the sounds of doors slamming from the other side of the lake almost a half mile away.

About Ian MacDonald

Ian Duncan MacDonald. "Artists are different. That creative void inside of them is filled by the gift of art. That persistent need to create. It keeps them striving. It's less about the destination than the path." For decades, I worked in oil, acrylic, ink and pastels. Now, I mostly create images in a digital medium. The speed and effects l can create by manipulating pixels on a computer screen, I find both exciting and very liberating. Interested in my background? Go to my webstite www.informus.ca. If you have any questions about my art, please contact me at imacd@informus.ca. I am always curious to learn why people have bought my images as I am incapable of choosing one over another. It is a bit like which of your children...
