This photograph is of the South River. The South river is over 60 miles long. It begins underground in Fulton County, Georgia. Eventually, after it rises to the surface, it runs through DeKalb, Henry, Rockdale, and Newton counties before eventually emptying into Lake Jackson along the Jasper/Newton County border. It meets the Alcovy river then eastward to meet with the Oconee River to form Georgia’s largest river - the Altamaha River. The Altamaha River flows eastward into the Atlantic Ocean.
