Description
Spectacled weaver (Ploceus ocularis) drinking water at a watering hole. This bird lives in scrubland and forests in eastern, southern and central Africa. It feeds on insects and spiders, although seeds, fruits and nectar are also taken. It hunts its prey by running up and down plant stems. Although common in gardens and farms, it is a shy bird, and rarely leaves cover. Photographed in Zimanga private game reserve Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
