Description
Well, Spike is back in the saddle in his search for a happy home. Sadly, he was unable to fly to the magpies' nest, so he continues his sojourn and now finds himself in the forest. Perhaps Mama bear will offer him residence in the home she shares with her little cub.

Meet Spike the Dhog, an endearing creature (part pig, hedgehog and dog), who arrives on earth from points unknown. Go with this different fellow as he searches for a welcoming home among birds, fish, bears, turtles, prairie dogs, barn cats and pigs. Follow him as he goes cheerfully through the countryside on his quest to find a home where he will be accepted for who he is. Bright imaginative illustrations by watercolor artist Anne Gifford, with story by Priscilla Gifford.

Anne, you children's book illustrations are absolutely wonderful. If I where still in the elementary classroom I would certainly be introducing your books and illustrations to my young students.

I would love to feature images from this book in the Animal Spirit PPaintings Group if you care to join. Also, one more day for the Love and Whimsy-florals and animals contest, and your images go so well! Great children's art (one of my favorite genres).

The bear looks like he is saying, " You have got to be kidding! " I did not know that you are a author of a book and children's books are the most difficult. The images are charming! I do a little writing in the form of a blog. Go take a look when you have time: www.zentcreativeblog.com
