We Floridians, who live where the mosquitos are vicious, the nights are as warm as the days, the moss is plentiful, and you can smell the pine needles on a hot day!. We live where the bass are plentiful and big, we live where the Specks are sweet when deep fried. The alligators and water moccasins are to be respected. We Floridians live, play, hunt and fish because it's in our blood year round. Now Spring is right around the corner, and again, we Floridians are the only ones who get the chance to see the osceola turkey fly to roost, gobble early in the morning, and dance every Spring to attract the females. When the Spring turkey season hits us, we care nothing of walking over the water moccasins and rattlesnakes to get to the spot we saw them fly up to roost the night before, but now i'll admit sometimes we have to do something about them mosquitoes!. That's okay, we have been bitten by that Spring fever, and it's on. This painting was done from a beautiful photo Mrs Sheila Munoz gave me the permission to paint. The effect of the fog was just magnificent, and i hope I have captured it in a way that when anyone who's hunted the Osceola in Florida sees it, they will connect immediately.
