New Orleans streetcars have always fascinated me since I was a child, and they still give me a great deal of joy. No visit to New Orleans is complete without a ride on the St. Charles line through the Garden District. When I was a senior in high school I remember having a church youth group Christmas party on a streetcar at in the evening. FUN! ...and I remember taking a streetcar downtown to take my ACT exams. I remember that I had to go to a big Catholic school for that, but after all these years, my memory fails me... I remember my mom being afraid for me to go by myself and my dad saying, "It's time she learned to get around the city by herself!" I remember learning a rhyme as a schoolkid where you clap your hands together with another person and say aloud, "3-6-9, the goose drank wine, they all got together on the streetcar line--the line broke! ...the monkey got choked, and they all went to heaven in a little row boat! ...clap, clap! ...clap, clap!
