I bought this tapestry for my mother who is in the final stages of lung caner. I wanted to brighten her room and bring her some cheer. I paid extra to have it shipped Next Day Air. We received the package 5 days after ordering. However, I was very diappointed at the taperstry when I opened it. It is very blurry and distorted. The fabric is OKAY somewhat thin, but not terrible. I have ordered many tapestries from another company recently as Christmas gifts for 1/2 the price that are way better quality and very clear and vibrant. I will not order again from Fine Art America....

Excellent quality. I am so pleased with my purchase, it's much better than I imagined. The image is crisp clear and the fabric is very good quality and hemmed all around. I have bought it to hang in my apartment in Tenerife which we have called The Kestrels as these birds fly and hover around it all day. I can't wait to return and hang it on the wall.

This is becoming the focal point of a four poster bed canopy.

It’s been almost two months and I still haven’t gotten my package after contacting Fine Art America multiple times. Would not buy from them again.

Artist's Description

Tulips were originally a wild flower growing in Central Asia and were first cultivated by the Turks as early as 1,000 AD. The flower was introduced in Western Europe and the Netherlands in the 17th century by Carolus Clusius, a famous biologist from Vienna. In the 1590's he became the director of the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, the oldest botanical garden of Europe, founded in 1587. Clusius was hired by the University of Leiden to research medicinal plants and while doing so he obtained bulbs from Turkey from Ogier Ghiselain de Busbecq, the ambassador of Constantinople - present-day Istanbul. de Busbecq named the tulip after the Turkish word for turban, grown in the palace gardens and sent a few of the brightly colored flowers to Clusius for his lovely garden in Leiden where they were quickly planted. This was the start of the amazing bulb fields we find today. In the beginning of the 17th century, the tulip began as a garden decoration but soon gained major popularity as a trading pr...

About Jon Burch Photography

Photography is all about using light to capture the emotion and the beauty of a fleeting moment. For me, this adventure began with a single spring image using a small Kodak film camera of a freshly watered central Kansas ditch and has come full circle using modern digital techniques. My first camera was an old 35mm Yashica, acquired by trading an ancient Royal typewriter to a fellow college student who was desperate to finish a term paper. It was a long time ago and that camera was my passport to an art that has fascinated me ever since. I owned a professional studio in central Kansas for 20 years until I sold the business and moved to Colorado. Part of the studio's early success came from creating outdoor...
