Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.

Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thank you, Linda.
Meg Shearer
I love the light and tones and the fascinating basket of roots. This is wonderful! L/F!
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thank you, Meg. Yes, I agree on the fascination of the subject - who would ever think that an old basket of root vegetables that look as if they have just been pulled from the garden would make an interesting "centerpiece"? It's all those shapes and textures, I guess :) Appreciate the comment.
Betty Denise
I love the light and tones in this one Nikolyn!
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thanks so much, Betty.
Maggie Terlecki
So textural, Nikolyn, that the root vegetables have a very lifelike and almost human body part feel to them. The natural light from the window behind is one of my favorite types of light for still life. It gives such a nice Chiaroscuro effect and gives a lot of volume. This is truly a fantastic shot!
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
You've picked a personal favorite. It's printed on canvas and framed in a very simple black frame and hanging in my dining room - along with another from the same place, Cuisine at Chenonceau which I toned to match.
RC DeWinter
Lovely piece, congrats on your placement in the Gallery Wall contest, l/f
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thank you, RC. I appreciate it.
Rahdne Zola
Great composition, depth, and textures, Nikolyn. Le Château de Chenonceau is one of the most majestic structures on Earth and you've captured the atmosphere nicely.
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thank you very much. You are right - it's an incredible place.
Viktor Lazarev
Wow...What a gorgeous piece....v/f
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Thank you very much, Viktor. You have picked a personal favorite. I have identically framed prints of this one and a companion piece which I call Cuisine at Chenonceau on the wall in my own dining room. I edited them at the same time so the tones would be the same.
