I painted this classical still life in 1977 from observation. I placed my guitar, a basket filled with corn and some oranges. The decorative bottle was a project I did with my High School Art students when I taught Art t Darcy McGee High School.
The students decorated the bottle with string and colored tissue paper as part of a still life that each student placed on their own work table to help them with drawing skills. I have vivid memories of these wonderful classes I taught over 45 years ago. I used this painting as a demo in a book I wrote entitled Still Life Oil Painting Lessons by Carole Spandau.
