The undertaking begins immediately with a worldwide call for entries and launches with a day of events on June 18, 2012. I bought this for Christmas for my daughter-in-law who just visited Barcelona. She’s going to love it! It’s a beautiful piece and I really like the print mounted on wood.

Came out sepia color. I may have requested that by mistake. Other than that it’s good.

The artwork is stunning. The mounting on wood was awful and actually damaged the print. Had to be returned due to damage.

Artist's Description

Masterwork, 54" x 36" Chromogenic Photograph on 1/4 inch Musuem Plexiglass... Palimpsest, the titular vein running through much of Kenneth Vick's body of photographs, is by no accident the most appropriate and most effective single word to illuminate our understanding of his work. A palimpsest can be described as a surface that has been used one or more times after earlier writing on it has been erased or covered over. In amassing this body of work, Mr. Vick took to the subterranean strongholds of the urban environment to capture what are most accurately labeled as "found collages". Layers of subway-graffiti, posters, ads, and political signs that have been applied and removed over time form a crust in which each leaves a residual mark or tone. Indeed, Mr. Vick could be seen as adding a layer of his own to these palimpsests by filtering the found images through the lens of a camera. The perceived textures, lumino...

About Kenneth rst Vick

Mr. Vick is a Photographer - American born in1955, a random reproductive rendering, if you will, given up at birth to be a ward of the State of Connecticut. "I left Utica in 1994 to photograph New York City and its immediate surroundings. Literally! The River Edge, was my first NY exhibition of photographs, taken from the perspective or vantage point of the rivers' borders and boundaries. Despite what man has done to secularize the natural environment, I see a spiritual element in each river vista that I had to secure...
