Absolutely gorgeous!

Bought as a gift for a trumpet player who was retiring. He was delighted with the picture and will remind him of his years with the orchestra.

This website and the photo itself are both awesome. The website is very well done and allows very granular fine tuning of the sizing, frame, matte, and paper you want. End result is exactly as described. The Trey pic itself is awesome. Gotta love his smile! It captures what makes the music so magical - he is clearly happy, healthy, and very much loves what he does, which you can hear in the music. Perfect addition to my wall.

The picture itself is fine but we picked the wrong frame and the wrong border.

Artist's Description

Artist Statement ?Forgotten Territory? The burial and excavation of the history of African Americans fuels my current practice as a painter. I have found that the cities of Savannah, Richmond, and Charleston were significant points of trade in the trans-Atlantic slave trade and as such were rich in history. Thousands of people had been sold, families torn apart, lives and spirits destroyed. Relics of amazing stories of survival and resolve waiting to be unearthed. This history is not particularly important in the larger sphere of American and world history. Its erasure can be contributed to institutionalized racism. Forgotten and buried artifacts, sacred sites, and even burial grounds are at constant risk of an eminent peril. Richmond?s Shockoe Bottom was such a site. In the years between the ban on the slave trade and the end of the Civil War, Shockoe Bottom functioned as one of the most important slave trading centers in the United States. It has been estimated that up to 350,000 pe...

About Monica James

Biography I grew up watching science fiction movies as an enjoyable family pastime. Favorites such as Forbidden Planet, Dune, 2001, and Alien fascinated me visually. I was drawn to the images of the stars, planets, galaxies, robotics, circuitry, and technology. I wondered what was beyond our mundane world and what the future would hold for mankind. This element of science, both fiction and fact influences the abstractions in my work today. It is through the perspective of modern technology that history is viewed in my paintings. I was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and raised between two cities, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Growing up science, music, and art were a part of the household. I have many fond memories of trips to the...
