This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!
The Magnolia is the state flower; however, the state wildflower is the Louisiana Iris - often seen in the lower Mississippi River valley. Our swamps are full of these gorgeous flowers which grow alongside the huge cypress trees. I painted this piece with an abundance of forest greens and golden browns, using the yellow-greens to interact playfully with the violet hues of the blooms.
