It's not about the speed setting but the measuring mode of the light. The camera is fooled by the bright snow. You need to compensate with probably +1ev. You can do it of course in most editors afterwards...just select the snow, than feather, than brighten it :))))

. .. Was trying to capture the images from far away with the zoom function on the powershot - NOT professionally crisp at all, but much better than I expected! Good ideas, thank you!

*lol* Yes, my snow is gray instead of white in a lot of the photos!!!! : P I try to avoid it being quite so gray! Maybe faster or slower shutter speed? Part of it is my settings . . . I don't have photoshop, but was able to use iphoto to lighten up the gray in some of them before uploading. . . . .

Thank you Michel! I took a quite a few shots . . .and selected the more unusual ones, leaving the more traditional ones not uploaded to this gallery.

Here they both are best visible....the heads...and they are striking an unusual pose...both ! So this is the most interesting. Try to get the left swans head a bit more crispy...and snow should be white and not grey....like in some others in this series Sandi !...than you have a winning combination....just helping out my friend :))
