The Swing Bridge spans the River Tyne, connecting Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, and lies between the Tyne Bridge and the High Level Bridge. It has a cantilevered span with a central axis of rotation able to move through 360 degrees to allow vessels to pass on either side of it. The Swing Bridge stands on the site of the Old Tyne Bridges of 1270 and 1781.
I'm a landscape photographer based in Newcastle upon Tyne and consider myself fortunate to live close to the breathtaking scenery and iconic landmarks that the city and its surroundings have to offer. With a mix of modern and historic buildings, picturesque bridges, vast open beaches, castles steeped in history, dramatic skies and rolling hills, it's an incredibly inspiring place to call home. Photography is my passion and I take great pleasure in capturing the remarkable architecture and landscapes that surround me.
