These paintings are an expression of life, a singular journey to experience personal truth, to discover the light within, and to be on a path to self-realization. My work is always an abstraction from the reality of the subject, endeavoring to capture the essence or ‘spirit’ of the image or environment portrayed. The focus is on light and color, the interaction of figure to ground, and the relationship between form and space. I like to work the medium--pushing and pulling the paint until the intent and the painting become one---an analogical moment. I love working from my intuition, letting the painting dictate to me what to do next. I love the order of sacred geometry, and in some paintings I lay down a grid that flows from without...
