Artist's Description

The Boy on the Seahorse statue, (El Niño Sobre el Caballo de Mar) is one of two iconic symbols in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The other is Our Lady of Guadalupe parish. This statue was the first statue that was placed on the Malecon in downtown Puerto Vallarta, a 10-foot replica of the Boy on the Seahorse statue that was originally at Las Pilitas on Los Muertos Beach. In 1960, eighteen-year-old Rafael Zamarripa Castaneda won the Mexican National Sculpture award. I have pursued the hobby of Photography with varying highs and lows of intensity all of my formative years and my adult life. For much of my working life, my camera sat on the top shelf of the closet, as life crowded it...
