JITNY unloading vacationer cars here once ferried US Army troops and armored vehicles to beaches under assault in WW11. My USN duty some 25 years later was aboard LST 1126( Landing Ship Tank) transporting Marines to training exercises in peacetime Pacific. McCalls New Yorker cover hangs above my ship's plaque.

Steam engine locomotives have been a favorite since childhood in the '40s. "Train Race" hangs below a photo of a family member from the '20s in his conductor attire.

I was greatly influenced by the images of Ansel Adams, Walker Evans, Russell Lee, Margaret Bourke-White and Dorothea Lange. After shooting 35 mm for several years, I acquired a medium format camera and expanded my horizons.
