I wish I did live in Cornwall Sharon. We might be lucky enough to retire there which will save a 4 hour drive down 3 or more times a year. You really should visit if you are ever in the UK. Thank you

Fog is so elusive. Carl Sandberg compared it to a cat, which is so true. This is a wonderful image.

I bought this tapestry for my mother who is in the final stages of lung caner. I wanted to brighten her room and bring her some cheer. I paid extra to have it shipped Next Day Air. We received the package 5 days after ordering. However, I was very diappointed at the taperstry when I opened it. It is very blurry and distorted. The fabric is OKAY somewhat thin, but not terrible. I have ordered many tapestries from another company recently as Christmas gifts for 1/2 the price that are way better quality and very clear and vibrant. I will not order again from Fine Art America....

Excellent quality. I am so pleased with my purchase, it's much better than I imagined. The image is crisp clear and the fabric is very good quality and hemmed all around. I have bought it to hang in my apartment in Tenerife which we have called The Kestrels as these birds fly and hover around it all day. I can't wait to return and hang it on the wall.

This is becoming the focal point of a four poster bed canopy.

It’s been almost two months and I still haven’t gotten my package after contacting Fine Art America multiple times. Would not buy from them again.

Is so perfect the way that this tapestry fits my bedroom wall! Love it

Artist's Description

A fishing boat coming home past The Crowns in the fog. The Crowns are two gloriously located engine houses near the village of Botallack in the south west of Cornwall close to Land's End. Botallack is a very remarkable mine. It is situated right on the edge of weather beaten cliffs near St Just in Cornwall, demonstrating the determination and ingenuity of its builders, particularly as the mine extends half a mile out to sea. The scenic location, the precarious closeness to the sea and the two well preserved engine houses, makes the mine the most photographed in Penwith. The two engine houses on this section "The Crowns" were renovated in 1984 by the Carn Brea Mining Society. The mines were worked from 1815 until the outbreak of the first world war in 1914. They produced 22,465 tons Copper, 14,888 tons Tin and 1,525 tons of Arsenic. The upper winding house served the Boscawen Diagonal Shaft, this allowed access to the undersea rich sections of the mine. In April 1863 this was the sit...
