Description
This metal door in Eastern State Penitentiary leads to a guard tower once occupied by armed guards. To the prisoners sentenced to this prison in Philadelphia PA it truly was a doo that lead to nowhere.

I keep looking at this and this time my eyes just gets locked on the door and I can't escape. It's just an eerie feeling, but I like it. Of course I like "Dark Art". It makes you read so much more into it than your first impression. I'll order a print next months FAA payment!!!

I'm in total agreement with Peter, JC. All he said and more, that I don't have words for. This is just wonderful. How fantastic a fit for Abandoned and Forlorn. f/v I told my wife of your most kind offer and she was very, very touched, as was I. Thank you again my friend.

Great photograph JC, there is so much I like about the photo: textures of the bricks stand out, all the hinges and peep / gun hole, the composition and balance of the scene, and the contrast in the exposure. What I really enjoy is the flowers at the entrance, and how something beautiful is trying to replace the ugliness that once passed through this door. A title I might have chosen after reading your description would be "The Door of the Overseer”.
