I bought this for my “Spanish Hairdresser”s birthday. I put it on a tote bag and also bought the greeting card. She really loved both. I would have preferred the top of the hairdresser’s head in lieu of the client’s shoulders. I thought I had it adjusted that way but it’s still beautiful!! Thank you!

Great picture of the Angel Oak tree. Framed and used in a grouping of four cards I purchase here, of the Angel Oak tree. Love the way my idea worked out!

Wanted to send a very special card to my sister. Naturally I thought of John Junek's amazing work. My sister loved the card.

Love this card! It was perfect for framing and looked beautiful, complimenting the style and decor in the room I intended it for.

Artist's Description

The Eye Of The Owl -The Goobe Series Acrylic on canvas “Look into my eyes and hear what I am not saying, for my eyes speak louder than my voice ever will...” - Unknown The owl has a deep significance in many cultures – and commonly associated with mysticism, intelligence and wisdom. The Owl, or "Ulooka" in Sanskrit and "Goobe" in Kannada, is Goddess Lakshmi's vahana (vehicle). It is said that by keeping the owl as her vehicle, she teaches us to open our eyes to the light of the wisdom residing within us. The eyes of the owl are often the most striking feature of the bird. Their eyes are extremely expressive and I have tried to portray my owls in the Goobe Series with a range of possibly human expressions. Whether animal or human – it is through the eyes you connect to the soul! This painting is one of five that I recently made, capturing different expressions of Owls. This series was recently featured in a prominent art gallery in Bangalore.
